Hello,

a bit about me:

I'm a Linguist, trained formally in the study of comparative grammar, with extensive experience in language teaching and learning. My goal as a Linguist is to bridge together theoretical Linguistics with its application in language education. I was originally born in Jakarta, Indonesia, but grew up a global citizen of the world. After having spent many years living in Singapore, Malaysia, Germany and the U.S., I am back home in Jakarta, ready to contribute to the development of education, especially language education in my home country. You can read more about my teaching philosophy under "teaching," and find links to my teaching demo and sample syllabus/lesson plans there. Similarly, under"research," I have listed my conference presentations and publications with selected links to abstracts and papers.

Outside of research and teaching, I enjoy k-pop, j-pop and asian dramas in my free time. I have also always been passionate about giving back to my community, as reflected in my active involvement as a student leader at Cornell University. Under "profile," you can find links to projects that I was involved in. This interview by the amazing people at Cornell's graduate school is a pretty good summary of my profile as a researcher and student leader. Please check it out!
